The Cranes of Uganda are excited to host the Flames in Kampala in a July 14 warm-up match for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fufa) executive officer Edgar Watson told his association’s website that the technical team will make use of the outing.

“We are glad to land this friendly because it will come at the most appropriate time when the Cranes are tuning up for the game against Equatorial Guinea,” Watson is quoted as saying.

Flames have a luxury of friendlies as they entertain Mambas of Mozambique on July 6 at Kamuzu Stadium before proceeding to Uganda en route for Benin for the Nations Cup second-round, first leg.

The Cranes have since Monday been training in Kampala. They start the first of two regional tours, also part of the build-up to the Afcon qualifier, on Saturday.

In 2011, Malawi travelled to Uganda for Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.
